Guest Napper #124 – Chilly Charlie
Which of you is a Fall enthusiast? How many of you secretly watch the Peanuts holiday specials during the warmer months, dreaming of falling leaves, sincere pumpkin patches, and small-but-mighty Christmas trees?
Guilty as charged. But I’ve got good company, apparently, in Charlie.
This is a fellow cold weather enthusiast, friends. Although I would counsel him to add shoes to his ensemble if he really wants to brave the elements anytime soon.
Perhaps he’s wearing boots in his dreams?
Better days and cooler nights are ahead, folks. FINALLY.
Sincerely,
Autumnal Enthusiast
Guest Nappers #122 and #123: Doubled Over
It won’t take much for me to explain why I loved this twin nap.
Apparently, Lance and Austin refused to take a nap for their daddy. As we all know, though, the siren song of sleep is impossible for children this age to resist for long. The result was, as you see, that Lance succumbed to slumber before actually hitting the floor.
Austin is asleep on top of a piece of pizza.
In their defense, it looks like someone tried to do some house cleaning before he passed out on his dinner. Well, that’s our story and we’re stickin’ to it…as he will be to his pepperoni when he wakes.
Bath time!
Guest Napper #121 – Snoozin’ on Seatbelt
Okay, parents. Can we be real? My kids are 3 and 5 and how did I somehow take on a full-time job as a soccer mom when my kids don’t play soccer?
We have two kids in half-day school…opposite halves of the day. Then I have appointments and more appointments and swimming lessons and my part-time job. And sometimes I am expected to empty the dishwasher and iron clothes.
The nerve.
And, yeah, my 3yo has more than a few short naps in the car, because who the heck knows when we will be home again? You wanna make somethin’ of it? Huh? HUH?!
Well. If I could take a nap in the car, I would. And this is how it would probably look.
Who was the young adult fiction hero of my past who jonesed after a perfect little turned-up nose? Well, tell her I’ve got her solution. In the FUTURE…
Keep mobile and carry on, folks. I’ll be taking calls in the CR-V.
Guest Napper #120 – Canine Cuddle
This morning, we found my son’s Blue Puppy stuck in the branches of our neighbors’ tree. I’m not sure if he left it there, in a fit of imagination, or if they kindly hung it for us to find, like a lost mitten. Either way, he loves his stuffed friend.
I’m sure he’d much rather have a real dog to cuddle with like this lucky girl!
So peaceful! Her mom said she didn’t know who was snoring louder…girl or dog.
May you all take comfort in your best friends this week…Happy Monday!
