Guest Napper #129 – Under the ZZZZZ

It’s Monday. Which of us isn’t secretly wishing we could hide behind our desk and have a nap?

Things are no different in Ninja Mom’s home office. Her son Roo has wrapped himself up all mermaid-like in his sister’s Ariel blanket and chosen a quiet spot in which to ignore his work. I mean HER work.

Drowning Under a Sea of Work

I’ve accumulated a lot of naps on this blog, and I’m beginning to notice a trend in this generation. They’re not afraid to do what we all dream of, but never had the guts to pull off: Stop, drop, and nap right in our place of work. It’s better than fighting the afternoon slump and ending up like this.

What would happen if you closed your door, got out your own Disney blanket, and let the sea of work wash over you? Peaceful office surf.

I like it.

Bonus Feature for Monday! I have been interviewed by Keesha over at Mom’s New Stage! If you’re curious about the mom behind the madness, stop by and check out all the great interviews this great blogger has done…including one with Ninja Mom, herself.

Guest Nappers #127 and #128: Sleepy Sidewalks of New York

If you’re not already reading Mommy Shorts at her blog and following her on Instagram, you should be. I give you Exhibit A…and also Exhibit B.

Actually, Two Times is the Charm

No, these two little pals are not giggling and making faces at each other. They are out cold.

Apparently, Mazzy and Lucas had a pretty emotionally exhausting day.  After a long stroller ride in the fresh air, they arrived a children’s museum that was closed for a private party. However, seeing the children inside, they staged a bit of a tantrum/sit-in and had to be taken into a nearby pharmacy to look at the stuffed animals.

You know, because when you can’t have art, you always have commercialism.

Anyway, after calming down in the pharmacy, they worked out the rest of their righteous anger at the playground, which resulted in the scene you see here. They didn’t make it home before crashing out in the only seats available.

PSA: It’s tough being a toddler, folks.

Check out Mama 411, by the way, if you want to find stuff to do with your kids in New York. You know, other than the pharmacy.

Guest Napper #126 – Face Down Foodie

Friday is always a great day to post to have a nap.

Personally, I enjoy a burrito from time to time. Of course, I don’t usually try to multitask my burrito and my nap into the same scheduling slot. Melissa’s son did, though.

Burrito…is…too…LARGE!

I can’t tell how much of the burrito he managed to eat before nearly going face down in his black beans there, but I’m thinking not a whole lot.

Something tells me the next item on the agenda will be tucking into BED rather than tucking into his dinner. This little foodie is finished.

Happy Friday! May you be alert at meals.

Guest Napper #125 – Cook Has Collapsed

You don’t need to tell me. It’s only October and you’re already over putting together those family meals at the end of a hectic day.

Apparently, you’re not alone.

Count(er)ing down to bedtime!

This tired little dude wanted to help his mommy do some cooking. Apparently, she needs to spice it up a little. Alternatively, perhaps he’s going to be more of a restaurant person.

May your family enjoy quality time around the table this evening…if not in the kitchen!
